The work of
the OMNIVORES is the result of different desires. Maybe
I wouldn’t have ever dealt with the subject if the occasion
hadn’t presented itself, but when the idea of adapting
this theme to the principle of the mobiles
was born, everything became obvious.
First the will to express the violence
of the body, then the desire to work with the space,
to make the visitor enter in the installation, to be part
of it. And finally the possibility to include volume and texture,
sensual dimensions connected to flesh.
There, the body becomes a screen where all types of violences
from inside are projected. Tormented flesh, fragmentized,
uncompleted, playing with the visual codes of violence without
any open wounds, terrible flesh of the monster-man, violent,
omnivorous animal.
